'Fandabbylicious'

I can't believe how fast the weeks peel by.

I have now finished putting together my Briar Rose Quilt except for the borders.
Still need to buy some material for that.

My friend Jen at Glinda Quilts commented on a
previous posting that it looked fandabbylicious.
I liked it, it stuck and that's what I'm calling this quilt.

'Fandabbylicious'

It's so bright and vibrant.

It was nice to be able to take some pictures outside today.

I'm thinking orange or green for the borders.

Just look at that blue sky!!

Hope your week goes well!

View From My Window Tonight

Can you believe how bleak and dreary it is?

I think this is the winter of our discontent
and the one that never will end.

On the flip side, it is nice that it is light quite late into the evening.

Since it's so dreary and wearying, one needs something to brighten up their little spot of the world.

What better way than with 'High Street' material by Moda.

Phew, much better than the view outside.

I have been itching to do something with this jelly roll that I purchased a while back.
I've had my eye on Good Night Irene or Briar Rose pattern out there.
Went with Briar Rose by Shontelle at England Street Quilts
and am very happy with the combo of fabric and pattern.

 The colours are so luscious!

Have completed four rows only but have only been working on it
off and on for the last couple of weeks.
There hasn't been a lot of spare time around here.

Hoping to get a little bit more sewing done over the Easter weekend.

A couple of weeks ago I was able to take a day off work
and spend the day with my good friend, Debbie.
We were in prenatal classes together and our eldest children are now 27
so it's been a long time that we have been friends.

We used to spend time cross stitching and doing crafts together in the early years.
Such fun we had!!

Both Debbie and tend to like the same things - food, crafting, thrifting,
spending time together and collecting any Bessie Pease Gutmann items we can find.

So our day together was perfect as we met over lunch,
shared and talked for a couple of hours, and went thrifting together and look what we found!!

Bessie Pease Gutmann mugs!!!!
We split them up and she took two and I took two.
What a find!!

It's enough to tickle your fancy and some days that's just what you need.

Hope that spring has arrived in your neck of the woods.
One day, we'll get there too!

Until then . . . .
